Madhya Pradesh is the largest state in India in terms of area, and Bhopal, which is situated around two artificial lakes, is its state capital. Despite its crowded commercial centre, Bhopal is an attractive place to visit. According to historians, Raja Bhoja built a city Bhojpal in the 11th century (the original Bhopal city). Later the control of the city came into the hands of the Mughals and remained under them till the beginning of the 18th century. Bhopal today presents a multi-faceted profile; the old city with its teeming market places and fine old mosques and palaces still bear the aristocratic imprint of its former rulers; among them the succession of powerful Begums who ruled Bhopal from 1819 to 1926. Bhopal is popular for its silver jewellery, embroidered and sequined velvet purses and cushions and beadwork. The monuments in the city represent the perfect blend of Hindu and Islamic cultures and at the same time the works on these monuments give an insight to the traditions of North as well as South India. The city?s shops are famous for traditional Bhopali crafts; you will find exquisite silver jewellery, beautifully-fashioned beadwork, sequined and embroidered velvet purses and cushions. The city is a great place to visit for non-vegetarians, thanks to long years of Islamic rule. Nikon unveils S1200pj and AW100 cameras, we go hands-on

In case you were distracted by all the Sony fuss this morning, Nikon also chose today to announce a gaggle of fresh cameras. Most of the new models are incremental updates that will demand in-depth reviews when they're released in September. In the meantime, however, two cameras stand out as warranting a bit of quick hands-on attention. Firstly, there's the Coolpix S1200pj priced at $430, which is the third generation of Nikon's line of projector cameras and appears to house some significant improvements. Next up, we have the $380 AW100, which represents Nikon's first foray into the all-weather niche since the days of celluloid. It's a rugged Rambo of a camera that is waterproof down to ear-stinging depths and is a heck of a lot more expensive than the Fuji FinePix XP30 we just took fishing. So, it was only proper that we harpoon pre-release versions of both these cameras in order to provide you with some initial impressions and videos, which you'll find directly after the break.

Zoologger: The amphibious fish that mates with itself

Species: Kryptolebias marmoratus

Habitat: Mangrove swamps on the east coast of North and South America

Faced with the inevitability of death, some people draw up a "bucket list": a checklist of things they plan to do, like learning a musical instrument or visiting the Grand Canyon. The Bucketlist website collates these ideas, including such gems as "play chicken with a train and lose". Yet nowhere on the site has anyone expressed a desire to have sex with themselves while living in a tree.

This shows a deplorable lack of initiative, because it wouldn't even be a world first. The mangrove killifish is way ahead of us. It lives in pools that are prone to drying up, so it can also live on land for months at a time ? often inside hollowed-out logs ? where it survives by breathing through its skin. It's also one of only two vertebrates ? the other being the closely-related ocellated rivulus ? that can self-fertilise.

These abilities give rise to a peculiar society made up of groups of clones that compete with each other for survival.

Fishy business

Plenty of animals are hermaphroditesMovie Camera, with both male and female sexual organs. But they still tend to mate with others to mix their genes up a bit.

Mangrove killifish don't tend to bother. Adults have both ovaries and testes, so when they want to reproduce they release sperm and eggs simultaneously. After the eggs are fertilised, they lay them in gravel.

Constant self-fertilising means the fish lose any genetic variation. Mangrove killifish that have self-fertilised for just a few generations become homozygous: that is, they have two identical copies of every gene. So within each population, there are a few groups of genetically identical killifish, each cloned from a different ancestor.

Having said that, some populations do have a few males. And though self-fertilisation is the norm for the hermaphrodites, they do occasionally mate with a male. That allows different clonal groups to trade genes, using males as middlemen. The killifish in these populations are not homozygous ? they have two different versions of some of their genes.

Personable clones

Nevertheless, most of the time there aren't any males, just groups of hermaphrodite clones. These groups can be quite different, for instance having differing sex ratios, growth rates and numbers of offspring.

Mathew Edenbrow and Darren Croft of the University of Exeter in the UK wondered if the groups also differed in their personalities: for instance, how willing they were to explore new places.

One idea is that the "life history" decisions an animal makes, like when to reproduce, help determine its personality. But when Edenbrow and Croft monitored 120 young fish as they hatched and grew to adulthood, they couldn't find any correlations between life history and personality.

Instead they found that the young killifish were remarkably malleable, with each individual changing its behaviour substantially as it grew up. "They're not constrained in their personality expression," Edenbrow says. He speculates that the young fish are learning from their experiences and shaping their personalities accordingly.

But not all of the fish were so flexible. Edenbrow and Croft looked at six clone groups and found that some were more malleable than others. That could give them an advantage: faced with a changeable environment, they may cope better than their stuck-in-the-mud cousins.

Given that the clone groups must compete with each other, do animals within each group work together? We don't know yet: Croft says it's not even clear if clones can recognise each other. But closely related animals are more likely to cooperate ? think of worker ants in a nest, all descended from the same queen ? and clones are as closely-related as you can get.

How To Define Bank Owned Real Estate Foreclosures?

You are at : Home | Business ? | ? Real Estate

Views : 1????Word Count: 870 ?? By : Deanna Lantieri zero times read

Bank owned home foreclosures, also called REO's (Real Estate Owned), is foreclosed homes that's possessed by the lending company as a result of an unsuccessful foreclosure public auction. There are lots of causes the home could possibly have not sold at public auction, yet the most common reason is negative equity, because the residence is worth below the amount owed to the financial institution. Naturally, the lender tries to get the outstanding balance on the original loan; for that reason, the lowest bid for the bank owned home foreclosure is usually the amount of the outstanding balance of the original mortgage, in addition to interest and any additional fees. Even so, sensible investors and prospective buyers will generally not consider paying more than the house is worth.

Nevertheless, an unsuccessful sale shouldn't stop the lending company from attempting to make a shot to see the bank owned foreclosure sold. The bank could consider getting rid of some or all liens and charges on the foreclosed real-estate in order to get it on the market and market it to the public. The resell approach may be retrying an auction or perhaps working by way of a Realtor to list, publicise, as well as sell the property.

This is a warm marketplace for real estate investors and also buyers. Property investors have an enthusiastic desire for bank owned properties and foreclosures. The market of foreclosed houses may be sizeable; but, not at all times suited to some customers. Currently house buyers and real estate investors alike tend to be scrambling through the marketplace of bank owned foreclosures looking for the perfect discounts. Though, the majority of bank owned foreclosed properties are in less than attractive condition, the reduced sale expense of the house highly compensates for the properties poor condition.

Investing in bank owned mortgage foreclosures provides a great return for investors. As an investor you will need to consider all your choices. Make sure you get the bank owned property foreclosure at or beneath fair market value. Hopefully, the bank owned foreclosure that an investor decides on to invest in will give the real estate investor returns; such as a larger yield in profit, through either renting the house out or by selling the home.

There are numerous approaches to hunt for bank owned property foreclosures. You can search the web, publications, and newspaper sale listings. The Web can direct you to hundreds possibly thousands of connections. Here you can view listing by state, banks, county, and much more.

It's also wise to spend time on getting a good real estate broker. If they understand what you would like, they're able to save you lots of time as well as work. They could also enable you to discover the actual value of the house you are considering committing to.

Lady Gaga And Her #MeatDress: 2010 VMA Twitter Trends

We look back at the 2.3 million Bieber, Jared Leto and garbage-bag-dress tweets sent during last year's show.

With outrageous moments, surprise performances and meat-clad pop stars, the Video Music Awards undoubtedly leave many Twitterers nursing thumb cramps on Monday morning. As the tweeting community continues to grow exponentially each year, the VMAs drive even more activity and trends. Last year, the second in which we used the VMA Twitter Tracker, there were approximately 2.3 million VMA-related tweets sent during the East and West Coast broadcasts.

Looking back at what people were the big trends that night provides a pretty accurate picture of the big show's onstage spectacles. On average, Lady Gaga was the subject of 9,200 tweets per minute (which, for Gaga, was probably a barely noticeable bump). Her meat-purse holder, Cher, was also popular that night as the subject of 7,100 tweets per minute. She was followed by Eminem, with 5,000 tweets per minute, and Rihanna, who had 4,700 tweets per minute.

Here are a few other interesting stats from 2010 VMAs trending topics. Maybe they'll give us hints about what people will be talking about during this Sunday's show.

30: Number of VMA-related topics trended from 8-11 p.m. ET. This doesn't even include topics that blew up after the show like meat dress, BornThisWay, and Lady Gaga Wins.

21: Number of these 30 topics that trended for an average of just 20 minutes (including white carpet, Drizzy Drake, #ifbiebermetgaga), a testament to the short attention span window on Twitter.

5: Number of topics that were a celebrity's misspelled name (Nicki Manaj, Chelsey Handler, Justin Beibers). Poor Nicki also trended as Niki Minaj, never as her correct name.

7: Number of trends regarding Lady Gaga, the most of any celeb. Bieber came in second as the subject of five.

5: Number of topics involving celeb fashion, including Varsity Jacket, Garbage Bag Dress, Lady Gaga's Shoes.

120: Number of minutes Jared Leto trended, the longest of any trend that evening. Go, Echelon!

The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. See the list of nominees, revisit last year's highlights and vote for Best New Artist by visiting VMA.MTV.com.

China urges "stable transition" in Libya (Reuters)

BEIJING (Reuters) ? China urged a "stable transition of power" in Libya and said it is in contact with the rebel National Transitional Council, in the clearest sign yet that Beijing has effectively shifted recognition to rebel forces poised to defeat Muammar Gaddafi.

China "respects the choice of the Libyan people and hopes for a stable transition of power," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said in a statement issued on the ministry's website (www.mfa.gov.cn) on Wednesday.

"We have always attached significance to the important role of the National Transitional Council in solving Libya's problems, and maintain contact with it," Ma said, referring to the main Libyan rebel group fighting Gaddafi's shrinking forces in the capital Tripoli.

"We hope that the future new government will adopt effective measures, draw together the forces of different factions, and restore social order as quickly as possible," said Ma, referring to Libya.

Beijing has yet to formally recognize the rebel forces as Libya's new leaders. But Ma's comments and recent remarks from other officials indicated Beijing has decisively abandoned Gaddafi and turned to the rebels likely to take full control of Tripoli soon.

"We hope to play an active role in rebuilding Libya in the future, together with the international community," the spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Shen Danyang, told a news conference in Beijing on Wednesday.

China and Russia have a tradition of opposing intervention in sovereign states, even when Western governments favor military action on humanitarian grounds.

But Beijing had been stepping up engagement with Libyan rebel leaders in recent months, even as it said those meetings were part of an effort to encourage a negotiated end to the six-month old war.

China is the world's second-biggest oil consumer, and last year obtained 3 percent of its imported crude from Libya.

BACKING A UNITED NATIONS ROLE

China did not use its U.N. Security Council veto power in March to block a resolution that authorized the NATO bombing campaign against Gaddafi's forces, but it then condemned the strikes and urged compromise between his government and rebels.

The United Nations should now lead post-war efforts in Libya, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi told the U.N. chief, adding that Beijing was willing to help rebuild the north African country.

In a phone call with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Yang suggested Beijing wants bodies such as the U.N., rather than Western governments alone, to coordinate international involvement in post-war Libya.

This would give China a say in decisions, despite the leading role Western powers played in defeating the forces of long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi.

"The United Nations should play a leading role in post-war arrangements for Libya, and China encourages the United Nations to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the African Union and Arab League," Yang said, according to the ministry website late on Tuesday (www.mfa.gov.cn).

China is "willing to work alongside the United Nations to promote a rapid stabilization in Libya and a swift course toward reconciliation and reconstruction," said Yang.

On Tuesday, China urged Libya to protect Chinese investments and said their oil trade benefited both countries, after a Libyan rebel warned that Chinese oil companies could lose out after the ousting of Gaddafi because Beijing did not offer enough support to the rebels.

China shipped in roughly 150,000 barrels per day of crude oil from Libya last year through Unipec, the trading arm of Asia's top refiner Sinopec Corp that holds the long-term supply contract. That amounted to about one tenth of Libya's crude exports.
