An October conference in Belfast will address the development of collaborative home-school partnerships, specifically to support the development of pro-social and academic skills in young children.
Presenter John Hite, a school psychology practitioner in Cumberland County, will offer an overview of current research applicable to those working with children, as well as specific evidence-based models for children birth through five.
The conference, ?Building Effective School and Family Partnerships,? takes place Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Belfast?s University of Maine Hutchinson Center. Attendees can participate remotely at sites in Bethel, Caribou, Hartland and Machias.
The conference is sponsored by the Down East Communities of Practice Planning Committee, of which the Maine Department of Education Student Assistance Team is a member.
